The Champions Challenge is a performance based ranking system for those 20 years of age and older. It scores individual race performances on a points-per-race basis. All individual finishers of a 2010 Somersault Triathlon (excluding the Try A Tri), Duathlon, and Canoe/ Kayak Tri race receive Champions Challenge points, and are automatically ranked in the Champions Challenge Points Rankings for those disciplines.
Each race participant receives points based on their place in a maximum of 4 races. The participants with the most Championship Challenge Points (minimum of 3 races) will be declared the official Champions Challenge Champions in their particular age, gender, or weight category in each discipline. All Champions Challenge Winners (First Three in each Category) will be honoured at the year end Somersault Champions Challenge Awards Reception.

The Junior Triathlon Challenge is for those participants 13 & under, 14-15, 16-17, and 18-19 years as of December 31, 2010. The program provides a forum for these multi-sport participants to compare themselves against others of the same age and gender.
Race distances that qualify for the Junior Triathlon Challenge are the Super Sprint Triathlon and Sprint Triathlon races, and the May 1 and October 9 Sprint Duathlon races. Juniors who are 18 and 19 years of age may choose longer distance races to qualify for the Junior Rankings. Those under 18, must choose the Junior distance races.
Each race participant receives points based on their place in a maximum of 4 races, and are automatically ranked in the Champions Challenge Points Rankings. The participants with the most Championship Challenge Points (minimum of 3 races) will be declared the official Challenge Champions in their age, and gender category. All Champions Challenge Winners (First Three in each Category) will be honoured at the year end Somersault Champions Challenge Awards Reception.
Minimum Number of Races
To be officially ranked at year end in the Champions Challenge or Junior Challenge Rankings, participants must complete a minimum of 3 races. Only triathlon races count towards the Triathlon Champions Challenge, only duathlon races count towards Duathlon Champions Challenge, and only Canoe/Kayak Tri races count towards the Canoe/Kayak Tri Champions Challenge. The Junior Challenge counts Sprint and Super Sprint triathlon races, plus the May 1 and October 9 Sprint Duathlon races.
Maximum Number of Races (New)
The point scores from a maximum of 4 races in the series can be counted in the Champions Challenge Rankings. If participants enter more than 4 races, their 4 best performances count towards their ranking.
