Join us for a fun and fitness day for everyone in the family at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum! More than 200 kids participated in the 2007 Turkey Trot, and they all seemed to enjoy it.

Michael Ryan's Most Excellent Turkey Trot (1.0 Km) is great for kids up to 12 years of age. It is also a super way for schools and clubs to raise funds for their own activity programs. Best of all, kids can enter for just $10.

Everyone gets a souvenir shirt, a personalized bib number, a finisher's medal, refreshments, a participant kit, a timing chip, and a chance at one of the many draw prizes. Don't forget to bring Mom and Dad too, because you need a parent/guardian with you to enter!

The start time is set, so the mom's and dad's who want to jog-a-long with the kids can do that - and still have time to run in their your own race ( marathon runners excepted).

championchip timing - by sportstats
We use ChampionChip Timing at all Somersault races. This timing system requires that all participants wear a ChampionChip Bracelet on their ankle (Anklet) during the race. This bracelet contains a computer chip that allows the kids to be timed.

The kids are responsible for obtaining their ChampionChip Bracelet on race morning from the timing people at the Sportstats Tent near the Finish Line.  Do this at least 30 minutes before their race - you will need their race number to obtain the chip.

The ChampionChip Bracelet must be returned immediately after the kids cross the finish line.  You are responsible for the bracelet cost if it is not returned - and it is expensive.

results - age as december 31, 2008
The kids personal results will be posted very soon after they finish the race.  Please check the results as soon as you can, to be sure they are accurate.  If  there are discrepancies, go to the Sportstats Van near the Finish Line and provide them with the information you think is correct.

Remember we use the participant's age at December 31, 2007 - not their race day age, for result purposes.

Results will be posted at http://www.somersault.ca/resultsrun.htm within 24 hours of the race and are available at www.RunnersWeb.com.

parking - $2 per adult - correct change only
The only parking available for the event is on the museum site.  You should be there by 8:30 a.m. to allow you time to get parked and get ready to run. Parking is prohibited on Old Montreal Rd, due to safety concerns.  Those who park on the road may have their vehicles towed. Please also allow 10-15 minutes to exit the parking lots.

1 Km & 5Km Parking
Look for signage at the Museum to direct you to the proper lots. 1Km and 5Km participants will be parking in the North Parking Lot across the road from the Museum. this will allow you to exit the lot quickly after the race, without being held up for long periods of time.

10Km, Half Marathon, Marathon Parking
Participants in these races will park in the South Parking Lot beside the Museum as you will be leaving later in the morning and will be able to exit fairly quickly.

There is a $2 per adult fee for parking at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum - please bring a toonie for each adult with you to save time early in the morning. Bring your toonie with you when you leave the car - you pay the parking fee at the entrance to the grounds - not as you enter the parking area.
