Aviation Museum, Aviation Parkway, Ottawa Ontario

photos
Jump Menu   introduction   registration information   race services   race day information   general information

We invite you to bring your kids (12 and under - boys and girls) to the Canadian Aviation Museum on the Aviation Parkway, for a really neat one way traffic free 1.1Km run on the Rockcliffe Parkway. The run is held in conjunction with Emilie's Women's Only 5Km Run.

The Wylie Ryan Aviation Museum 1.1Km Run is a really neat one, starting on the Rockcliffe Parkway overpass above the Aviation Parkway, and running right to the front door of the Aviation Museum - where the kids will receive a free pass to the Museum (sorry adults, you have to pay).

Bring the kids out to watch their Mom, Grandmother, sister, cousins, and friends run the 5Km, then enjoy their own 1.1Km with souvenir shirts, a timing chip, and medals and treats after the race. To learn more about the Emilie Mondor Memorial Women's Only 5Km Run, click here.

championchip timing - by sportstats
We use ChampionChip Timing at all Somersault races. This timing system requires that all participants wear a ChampionChip Bracelet on their ankle (Anklet) during the race. This bracelet contains a computer chip that allows the kids to be timed.

The kids are responsible for obtaining their ChampionChip Bracelet on race morning from the timing people at the Sportstats Tent near the Finish Line.  Do this at least 30 minutes before their race - you will need their race number to obtain the chip.

The ChampionChip Bracelet must be returned immediately after the kids cross the finish line.  You are responsible for the bracelet cost if it is not returned - and it is expensive.

results (age of december 31, 2008)
The kids personal results will be posted very soon after they finish the race.  Please check the results as soon as you can, to be sure they are accurate.  If  there are discrepancies, go to the Sportstats Van near the Finish Line and provide them with the information you think is correct.

Remember we use the participant's age at December 31, 2008 - not their race day age - for result purposes.

Results will be posted at http://www.somersault.ca/results.htm within 24 hours of the race and are available at RunersWeb.com.
