somersault
event volunteers
We are grateful each year to receive so much support from
volunteers, at Somersault Triathlon, Duathlon, Run Series, and Wylie Ryan Kids' Events. Without keen and energetic
volunteers, most events simply wouldn't happen. Having
to hire all the personnel required for each event, would
make events prohibitively expensive for most of us.
We welcome and need volunteers at each event. This volunteer
information section will hopefully encourage you, your
family, friends, or your local clubs/organization to give
it a try. Volunteering can be an exhilarating
and rewarding experience.
why volunteer
Volunteers often leave Somersault
events talking as excitedly about their experience as
the participants do. Being right there, directing, cheering,
handing out aid, assisting with timing, or dispensing finish
line support, volunteers are indeed participants in the event.
The thrill of encouraging and supporting the participants, is second only to the that of participating yourself.
Another good reason to volunteer is that you are helping support
the charity or charities that benefit from the events.
There are many "winners" in each Somersault event and many
of these winners are the communities and residents who
are promoted in, and who receive support
from, them.
what do I
receive for volunteering
Besides sharing the excitement and the exhilaration of being
involved, each volunteer will receive a souvenir T-Shirt, share in the post race refreshments and
meals, and receive a heartfelt thank you from both the organizers and
the participants.
what do clubs and organizations
receive for volunteering
In addition to these personal benefits, what makes
volunteering even more fun is doing it alongside friends,
family,or members of your community club, team or organization.
Somersault offers a generous donation program to groups that are willing to provide
10 or more volunteers at an
event. It can be both fun and profitable for your club.
